Doug was stationed in Baumholder during this time
Mackenrodt was the first place we lived in
He used to love playing with them and wrapping himself up in them
still sleeping with us
If I can keep one person to make the same mistake we made on that day, I'll be happy
Let's see what was going on:
We were playing Mexican Dice with Beer
We had a lot of fun
If you have been drinking --- do NOT drive!!!
Doug had asked me to drive to get more beer and I told him I couldn't cause I was drunk
So, he drove and stupid me, took my little David and went with him
Greg, Ken and Matt came too. I sat in back with Greg and Ken and David was on our labs
As Doug was heading into town I was telling him to slow down
He said "I can go 50, or 60, maybe even 70
And BAM we hit the wall
Matt needed stitches on his leg and had a broken wrist
Greg had glass in his eyes and I got the wind knocked out of me
David threw up..possibly due to the stress the accident caused
Doug broke his shoulder. Like I said.... we were lucky!
The police didn't even test him. HE was lucky!
The paper article above states that the accident occured probably due to going to fast
DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
David used to love them coming over
